Teriyaki chicken on a stick is a delicious recipe we make on the grill and in an oven broiler. Chicken Teriyaki on a Stick is marinated chicken tenders, saucy and so yummy. These are delicious morsels of juicy chicken coated in a thick and tasty teriyaki sauce, and we grill them to perfection with a little bit of char and crunch for texture.
You can make the skewers in advance with the chicken and then have the mood to eat. Just put them on the grill; until you are ready to eat. If there is a party in your home with your friends, you can make the skewers before the party and, when you want, grill them.
Which Cut of Chicken to Use?
The best pieces of chicken you can use are Boneless Chicken Thighs. When you cook the meat, it does not dry out like chicken breast, so thighs are the best. You must marinate cuts in the sauce beforehand so they soak up extra flavour and become primed for juiciness. You must cut the thighs into small pieces and skew them to make your teriyaki chicken on a stick.
What Size Skewers to Use
For the size of the cut, you can use long 8-10″ bamboo skewers. But keep in mind that always use them after soaking wooden skewers in water for about 15 minutes so they do not burn on the grill. When making for a party, I use 6″ skewers. Half-sized skewers are better as finger food.
How to Make Teriyaki Sauce
Ingredients
Soy sauce
Brown sugar
Cider vinegar
Garlic powder
Ground ginger
Cornstarch
Cold water
Recipe of Teriyaki Sauce
Please put these things into a small saucepan and let them cook for about 5 minutes. The cornstarch and water will make the sauce thicker, so this will be used as a glaze. If you want to use it to marinate meat with the sauce, do not use cornstarch and water. In the remaining sauce, use less cornstarch for thickness. You can store the sauce for up to a week in the refrigerator.
